2020 & 2022 MONTANA SNOWMOBILE CLUB OF THE YEAR SUPPORT THOSE THAT SUPPORT YOUR CLUB
Hi all, my name is Rowdy Yates. I am the current President of the UYSC. This is my fourth year. My wife, Kristen and I, manage a ranch just outside of Gardiner, Montana. I am a long retired rodeo cowboy and used to ride broncs and bulls. 2 boys, Cody and Colt and they both love to rodeo and sled as well. Kristen was the reason that I started mountain riding and especially at Cooke City, her being raised there as a youngun’. My first trip to Cooke City was all that it should have been…exciting! Probably within my first 30 minutes on a mountain sled…they dropped me off Daisy. I am excited for the future of the UYSC and want this to be the club that everyone wants to join. Cooke City is one of the top snowmobile destinations in the US and we have a club to match it.
Reed, is a co-owner of Beartooth Powder Guides. He worked as a Ski Patroller for Mammoth Mountain, developing a strong appreciation for mitigating and managing avalanche terrain. He studied forestry in college and made his living in the trades to support his passion for splitboarding and surfing during the winters. After years of ski bumming in the Cascade, Sierra and Beartooth Mountains he began to pursue a career in guiding and avalanche education to share his love of the mountains with others. He use’s snowmobiles daily in his business and loves to ride sleds and snow bikes as much as possible for fun.
It's a safe gamble that the word "pioneer" will find its way into any description of Aaron Mulkey (aka Coldfear). Whether he's in his backyard in the Wyoming/Montana region he calls home (where he's established nearly 300 first ice climbing ascents) or in some isolated backcountry around the globe, big mileage hikes and multi-day scouting missions to find unclimbed ice falls or first descents on a river keep him up at night and get him going in the morning. Mulkey and his wife, Kelly, live in Cooke City because of their love for winter recreation. They have one of the unique homes in Cooke City that is accessible only by snowmobile in the winter. Mulkey spends his winters snowmobiling, skiing and ice climbing the mountains of Wyoming and Montana. The snowmobile club is a great way to stay active in the community during the winter. Check out @coldfear on Instagram and Facebook to know more about him.

I find my home in Gardiner, MT managing a private guest ranch with my hubby Rowdy Yates. Back when I was a little girl you would have seen me riding sleds up and down main street of Cooke City. Snowmobiling has been in the blood since I was little. Cooke City has a special place in my heart. I'm pleased to say I am a Team Rider for Extreme Realities Design and Oxbow Gear.
